Research:

My work centers on the discovery and enhancement of present treatment options for glioblastoma. Our lab focuses manly on the utilization of oncolytic viruses. Oncolytic viruses (OVs) are specifically engineered to replicate and destroy only cancer cells. While there are many ongoing clinical trials using OVs, most of the results fail to recapitulate the efficacy found in preclinical trials. Utilizing patient glioma cell lines we are able to explore the complexity of the tumor microenvironment and the mechanisms underlying resistance to common clinical therapies.
