Research:

The studies I will be working on will be to test the hypothesis that Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor (CNTF) is required for oligogenesis and remyelination after spinal cord injury (SCI). The first project I have started working on is blocking of SCI-induced increase in CNTF levels via the application of a CNTF-specific siRNA by using a lentiviral vector system.
